THE DREAM: The dream was full of strange mutant like people. It felt like a nightmare. I was focusing on their faces and looking at the details of their ugliness.

THE REALITY : The previous day the dreamer had been getting worked up about a man who had been harassing him for no reason. He was worried that he would get into trouble for retaliating. He had also been having very vivid fantasies about killing people. Nightmares often simply tell you how you are feeling at the time of the dream and especially the night before.
