How to make a dream dictionary
THE DREAM I had a terrible nightmare. I was in this place which was full of really weird and freaky people. My hands were covered in this "goo". The dream just went on for ages. It just seemed to go on for ever. I could not get away from these strange people. At one point my sister and her husband said hello to me and said that I should come and stay for a month. I said that I had no money and had lost my keys. I did not know what was going on. But through the entire dream I was brushing my hands trying to get this substance off me. I just could not get it off me. It just seemed to go on and on.
THE REALITY When you get a dream you must make associations with it. When this dreamer woke up he thought this was a dream about his upset emotions. He had been depressed at the time. But the dream was later thought to be a premonition of a really bad day ahead. When he went out the next day he was caught in a terrible blizzard which was a bit of a surprise. The nightmare day just seemed to go on forever. The dreams main feature was about this goo on his hands which was a constant irritation. In real life he had no gloves whilst caught in the blizzard. He had several calls to make so the nightmare day went on for some time. For a couple of hours after he got home his hands were numb from the cold. When he got home his hands were so cold that he took several minutes trying to open up his door. When you get a dream you must make associations with the various symbols. In the dream there were problems with his hands and in real life he experienced problems with his numb hands which could not seem to warm up. He was on sitting in a bus queue for a very long time. Then as he went to the supermarket he realised he did not have his bank card. He immediately thought he had lost his bank card as he always kept it in a particular pocket. This was another strong association which the dream made because the dream featured money worries and a feeling that his life was in total chaos. Initially the dream felt that the dream was about his low mood but he could not understand why the dream featured money worries because he had no particular money worries. But losing your bank card was the trigger for this dream. When he realised he had lost his bank card he felt his life was in chaos. He had been caught in a blizzard and now had to report his missing card. But since he had some cash he could buy a few items in the supermarket. But when he went into the store he asked at the tills if a bank card had been left in the shop the previous day. The member of staff checked up and indeed the card had been handed in. In some ways the cold spell was not totally unexpected as the someone had said to him that colder weather was coming. But he had looked up the forecast and weather was predicted to not be too bad. So the blizzard was a surprise. It seemed worse because the moment he went outside the snow started almost immediately and continued throughout the morning. His trousers got soaked and he was very cold. When someone had said snow was on its way he just laughed it off after checking the forecast.
Dreams can capture feelings from the day ahead as premonitions. This dream captures the following feeling - I am going to have a nightmare day ahead. The moment I stepped outside it was the worst blizzard I can remember. Then I realised that I had lost my bank card. My life was in chaos. I was so cold for hours after I came back in. It took me several minutes to open my front door because my hands were so numb. It was truly a nightmare of a day and my dream was a premonition of this truly bad day.
Dreams are very much in the here and now. Most dreams are about your current thoughts. But some dreams are premonitions but they too are in the here and now as they capture thoughts from the day to come. This dream captured thoughts from the day to come as he felt truly victimised by the world as a snow blizzard started just as he left home.It was not really predicted so it to be seen as a premonition.
