How to make a dream dictionary
THE DREAM I was dreaming I was in a water park in the sea, and people would go inside of it. There were sharks in there (big white sharks). I got into this tank and saw the sharks chasing me. When I was in the outer sea the big waves pushed me down. I then saw more sharks and tried to escape them. I thought I was going to die.
GUESSWORK The dreamer had just moved in with a room mate from college. He is a little weird, but extremely smart. He loves to drink party and do crazy things, while the dreamer liked to chill and relax more. She was invited to his family in Missouri for the fourth of July. She was nervous about this and had a weird feeling about him and his family. He even bought her a one way ticket. He kept mentioning parties.
The "Guesswork" stage of interpreting a dream involves spotting issues likely to cause dreams. For help with this click here
ASSOCIATIONS AND SYMBOLIC MEANINGS
1. SHARK. Sharks can represent something dangerous - that's obvious! But if sharks are a symbol for this dreamers fears about her room mate then they could represent the unseen dangers and doubts about this holiday. More specifically the shark could represent danger her room mates wild and dangerous activities.
2. WATERPARK. It's quite significant that its a water park. That's linking the dream to leisure. In real life the dreamers doubts and uncertainties are linked to leisure activities.
3. ESCAPE. The dream features attempts at escape. That's symbolic for the dreamers wish to escape from her room mates wild activities. It may seem extreme yet that's how dreams work. They use extreme symbols to express extreme emotions.
4. CHASED. Chasing dreams will often represent issues and people which you cannot get away from. You literally feel as if you are being chased from them. It certainly fits in with the issue mentioned in guesswork. The dreamer feels pushed into this holiday and the types of activities that her roomie wants to get up to.
DREAM ANALYSIS In guesswork the dream was linked to the dreamers worries about her roommate. The dream deals with the following themes
- doubts and uncertainties
- pleasure
If you weave together the different themes you find that they could capture these thoughts -"I have been invited to my room mates for Fourth of July. I really have a weird feeling about it all and part of me wants to turn the offer down. It would be all wild parties. He has even bought me a plane ticket."
