THE DREAM I had an extremely long dream, that I felt in control of for periods of time. In my dream, there was a killer who had kidnapped multiple girls and held them captive to torture them before killing them. At this moment, someone was missing, and I managed to find her and rescue her. She was chained to a bed, and her body was flayed open all along her legs and she was in a potato sack of a dress that had been torn and dirtied. I saved her and we escaped, but the man came for me a few nights later. He was tall and wearing a jumpsuit in gray and navy. He had me imprisoned, but a person I was dream dating saved me after I had been tortured some. He had knocked the killer out, and secured him to the bed instead, and told me to take my revenge on him - I tried to shoot him in the head, but the gun had no bullets. He woke up, and I didn't want to hurt him, so we ran. We called the police, who told us they couldn't hold him (not sure why) so they put him in a cage in my house for the night until they could take him the next day. Of course, he ended up escaping and threatening my entire family, and so I went with him. He told me to come to his house every day at 9:00 PM foe torture, and he would never hurt my family or actually kill me. The first day, I was terrified and was running out of town, when a girl stopped me and told me to take the 6:50 city bus out of town. I was running to the bus stop, as it was 6:48, and the bus pulled up behind me and opened its doors - as I got on, I saw the driver was the killer. He asked if I'd like a ride, or if he'd see me at 9. I got off the bus, and instead of running home, ran along the road all night. In the morning, I dove into a ditch that was overgrown and hid there under the brush. He had a video game that allowed him to control helicopters I'd been seeing all night, and when I hid in the ditch, he came and got me and told me we'd meet this night at 9:00 instead. I considered telling my parents everything and us fleeing to a new state and starting over, but I feared he would know and find us. I knew the girl who had directed me to the 6:50 bus had worked for him, and an elderly couple who ended up taking me captive later. I had no idea how far his reach extended. The dream never resolved or ended fully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION I woke up at 12:45 and never fell fully back to sleep. I was, from then on, trying to control a dream that kept getting away from me, and I was aware of the time. At 7:30 I woke up and gave up on sleep.

Well the meaning is probably linked to your obsession with getting to sleep. We dream about what is important to us and if your mind is focused on sleeping then its likely that your thoughts and therefore your dreams will link to this need. Notice that the dreams main theme is time - time checks are given all the time.
