THE DREAM I had a very short dream. I was in my flat in real life I am living with a friend and have not been in my flat for weeks. I am turning on the lights as I am about to leave. I often do this to discourage burglars and thieves to make them think I am out when I am in.

THE REALITY : In real life the dreamer said he had not been in his flat for weeks since he had been staying with a friend. He had always left lights on but he could not do that because the electricity was not working. The dream captures his urge to turn on the lights whilst he was out - which was all the time. The dreamer had always been very security conscious and made every attempt to discourage burglars. So the dream is quite literal as the dreamer always associated leaving the lights on whilst he was out with a wish to discourage burglars.
