THE DREAM I dreamed that my brother in law Noah had an accident and that he lost his thumb on one hand. He went in to surgery to have it amputated. After recovering he doesn't feel like a whole person. But I just love him even more. Further on in my dream I see several occasions where he is feeling left out. Where he normally was so confident, he now not sure anymore. When I kiss him goodbye, a kiss accidentally ends on his lips.He is surprised, as am I, but it felt really good. When we meet on a different occasion, I sit next to him, he lays his arm on my shoulder, it feels as if it belongs there. We both feel very comfortable this way. Feeling safe and loved. Better than ever.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION The day before the dreamer paid a visit to an aquaintance who told her a story about Noah (who was in the dream). She clearly did not like her giving examples of his behaviour. The dreamer took her brother in laws side knowing he would not do anyone an injustice. She let her friend tell her story and did not say anything.The dreamer was going to get a divorce so she would not be seeing him when that was completed. The dreamer had strong feelings for her brother in law but would not do anything whilst she was still married. She believed that he had feelings for her.

Dreams often just replay our true feelings. In this case the dream plays out the strong feelings the dreamer holds for her brother in law, feelings which she believed were mutual. The amputation may capture the feeling that they would soon not see each other when the divorce came through. It is like a metaphor - their relationship would be CUT OFF,just like her brother in laws thumb.
