THE DREAM I am watching a video of a Royal wedding. A Prince and Princess were getting married. It was like a fairytale. The strange thing was that I was watching this with the couple themselves.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION The dreamer had fallen out with his ex over two years previously. Now his ex had got married and they seemed to be very happy. He had regretted falling out with her and in particular losing touch with her as she was always good company. He thought that she was the perfect woman and would happy to be just friends. The previous evening he had been thinking how he would even like to become friends with her new husband.

THE INTERPRETATION Many dreams are linked to the previous day so if you have been thinking about something in particular then it may easily generate a dream. The mind stores its thoughts in the form of metaphors and you can often guess the symbolic meanings by guessing what key thoughts will cause you to dream. In this case the dreamer had been thinking about his ex. The fairytale prince and princess were an excellent metaphor for his ex and her husband. He saw her as a perfect woman - so the princess was a good symbol for her. Her marriage seemed extremely strong and they were well suited to each other so the prince and princess could be a symbol for a blissfully happy marriage. If the dreamer was watching the wedding video then surely that's a sign of his acceptance of her marriage. So the dream marks his willingness to be just friends. He had got over any bitterness over he break up.
