THE DREAM The dream seemed to recreate the kennedy assassination or something like that. There was some event taking place. We were the centre of attention - we had either been the victim or had been accused of some great crime. So we were trapped in our house afraid to go out. We were looking outside and I saw police cars. I mentioned it - every other car was a police car. Eventually we went outside - but had to run for cover. There was a mention of South Africa and pioison gas. Someone had spoken in a South African accent. We ran back at top speed running for our lives.

THE REALITY The dreamer was researching for a history booklet he was writing about the German bombardment of Scarborough in 1914 during World War One. He was trying to write this in a way which caught peoples thoughts during the event. The dream captured the following snippets which featured in this real life event such as "running for our lives", "trapped in a house", "foreign accents", and "emergency services".

If the dreamers mind was immersed in a project then any dream may easily link to this. In this case the dream links to the strategy the dreamer was using to write this book. So the dream captured this exact thought - "I am trying to write this booklet in such a way that it brings to life the emotions of those people caught up in a bombardment of civilians during war." The dream does not mention the subject which the dreamer was writing the book on but it deals with similar themes. So by looking at thoughts which were dominating the dreamers mind we can see what has triggered the dream.
