Basements in dreams : Dream symbols can have quite abstract meanings. What clues can we gain from a basement? It is underneath the ground, therefore hidden, perhaps a symbol for hidden and negative feelings. Indeed some evidence in dream analysis seems to support this idea.

Basement in dreams
- "Bottling up feelings" "Hidden feelings" "Negative feelings"(Basements are hidden and below ground. They could link to hidden and bottled up negative feelings. Think of how these have been on your mind e.g. "He has a tendency to bottle up emotions" or "I have so many resentments about what has happened")
- "Clutter" (We often associate lofts and basements with clutter because basements often become dumping grounds. This could have a literal meaning in that you have been thinking about the clutter in your house in the basement. )
