Urges in dreams: Understanding dreams is not so difficult. In practice dream symbols translate into certain words within the English language. For instance a dream about something "urgent" may simply translate into a key phrase like "unable to control yourself". Then the dreams meaning could be summarised by quote such as "I am a bit worried that I cannot control myself. I behave so stupidly around my crush - it is becoming obvious". Always try to think of a quote which captures your thoughts right now which features one of these keywords or phrases.
Full list of keywords which link to "capturing" in dreams
- "Uncomfortable" Did you feel uncomfortable when waking? Had you been sleeping in an uncomfortable position? Did you need to urgently go to the toilet on waking? If so your dream was simply telling you to wake up.
- "Nervous" Do you have medical problems which sometimes require immediate attention? Do you suffer from panic attacks which make you want to get out of a situation immediately?
- "Unable to control yourself" Were you thinking about someone who simply cannot control themselves? Did you find it difficult to control you sexual urges yesterday? Are you a very impulsive person? Do you feel like your urges are making you behave in an odd or anti social way?
- "Shocking" Did something truly shocking happen yesterday? Have you just witnessed something which made you really think?
- "Illness" Was someone really ill yesterday? If so the dream was about the need to act quickly.
- "Full attention" Have you been trying to concentrate on something? Do you need to put all your effort into something? Do you think people have not been putting enough effort into something?
- "Strong imagination" Do you have a dramatic imagination? If so the dream is linked to your personality and your tendency to put everything into life.
Most dreams have simple meanings - they are linked to everyday thoughts. If properly understood they would translate into everyday thoughts, the type of feelings that we write down in a diary or tell a best friend. If you were to give a quote which summed up your thoughts about the day that has just gone or the day to come then that would very often be the meaning of your dream. The story in your dream is merely a symbolic version of that thought. Just read through the list of keywords above and if one seems to fit a key thought right now then it is likely that it is linked to the dreams meaning. For instance an "urge" dream may translate into the keyword "illness" and the dream is a symbolic of a thought such as "I was scared when he became so ill. I really did not know what to do!"
