Whales in dreams:Understanding dreams is not so difficult. In practice dream symbols translate into certain words within the English language. For instance a "Whale" dream may simply capture an everyday thought such as "I woke up feeling extremely calm". In that way the whale dream picks out one thing we associate with whales (Calmness and tranquillity) simply put the dream simply means "I woke up feeling so calm and relaxed".

In practice whales have several symbolic meanings. Here is the list. This list is by no means exhaustive - their maybe other meanings that we are not aware of.
- "An emotional connection with someone" (Were you satisfied at how well you have connected with someone yesterday? Are you feeling at one with someone? Are you striving to build up a strong emotional connection with a group of people?)
- "Spiritually uplifted" (Were you especially spiritually uplifted yesterday? Have you been reading books or watching programs about spiritual matters? Do you feel empty of all spirituality and in need of spiritual meaning in your life.)
- "Something huge" (Dreams can be simple metaphors. A whale can represent anything which is huge or important.)
- "All things good" (Some creatures are seen as universally good and inspiring. They epitomise all things good about the world such as peace, beauty, happiness and people getting along with each other. If you have been thinking in this idyllic kind of way then your whale dream is simply capturing those perfect world types of emotions. If you feel exactly the opposite then the dream still probably relates to that)
- "Calm and tranquil" (Think of any context in which you can think of. Did you wake up especially calm and peaceful? Was something stressing you out and you were wanting to calm down? Has someone been especially calming to you?)
Dreams can represent very sophisticated thoughts. For instance one dreamer had a dream about the mass death of whales. The previous weekend she was worried that she had been drug raped as she had passed out and forgotten what happened on a night out. Whales to her symbolised all things good in the world. They were wonderful creatures which captured the beauty of life. In her dream these whales were dying in huge numbers simply beaching themselves. So actually the context of the dream linked to the opposite meaning - the dreamer was in despair and thinking how all things good had been destroyed. The dreamers belief in the world had been dented by this drug rape.
