Similar dream interpretation techniques

Other people manage to interpret dreams in similar ways to the interpretations on this website. The interpretations on this page each capture and pinpoint certain feelings. These dreams come from 'Brindian'.

He rarely remembered his dreams, maybe once or twice every month he would actually wake up knowing that He'd dreamt. Usually it was just darkness followed by waking up. When he dreamt about the same thing twice in a row he usually tried to interpret the dream otherwise it would tend to recur.

THE DREAM In my first dream I'm in my parents house with my brother and there are these huge wolves (tiger-sized) outside jumping up on the windows and smashing themselves against the windows and doors trying to get in. My brother is panicking so I go to the front door and close it just as a wolf gets inside, I grab it by it's head and hold it's mouth shut while I tell my panic stricken brother to go get a meat knife to cut it's throat. Then I wake up.

In my second dream I'm in my uncle's log cabin (which he doesn't have in real life). He is with his wife and me and there are huge dogs trying to break in through the doors and windows. The back door bolts shut at the bottom and locks in the middle with a key but a huge dog and a wolf are ramming it so hard that it will slowly come off it's hinges. For some reason no-one else seems too worried about these dogs, they know what they're trying to do but seem oblivious. I repeat this step several times as the back door comes unlocked repeatedly, pushing as hard as I can whilst the dog's head pokes out between the door and the frame. It seems like I'm just delaying the inevitable, eventually they'll wear me down and get in.

THE REALITY The dreamer lived in a very conservative culture. His family were constantly trying to pressure him into a forced marriage. He had been thinking about this the day before and was thinking how this would be like a death sentence.

DREAM INTERPRETATION The dreamer linked this dream to the constant pressure he faced from his family to have an arranged marriage. The dreamer had been thinking about this the night before. He had been thinking how this was like a death sentence. His uncle probably did not seem so scared of the wolves because he had an arranged marriage that was actually working. The relentless way the wolves were behaving was symbolic of his families constant and relentless pressure.

THE DREAM I kept dreaming about snakes in washing machines or hiding behind washing machines

THE REALITY The dreamer was planning a month long trip to Europe. He had started to plan out the trip in excruciating detail.

The dreamer was planning out a trip in excruciating detail. The washing machine was symbolic of how he had turned something which should be free and spontaneous into something which was now just like a household chore.

THE DREAM I was at my Gran's house and there was this small snake (had a yellowish underbelly and was greenish-black on top (patterned)) on the floor viciously snapping out and biting. It got it's teeth caught in the carpet with it's mouth wide open buried in the ground, I applied pressure to back of it's head, trying to snap it's neck, but it didn't work, it just got more and more angry. So I grabbed it (was only about as long as my forearm, a baby really) and threw it through the gap between the door and the doorframe (which is impossible cos the gap is nowhere near wide enough).

DREAM INTERPRETATION The snake has spiritual meaning in Hinduism since it's regularly wrapped around Lord Shiva's neck, this means snakes are usually seen as a precursor to divine wisdom. The dreamer was throwing away away the spiritual lesson that it was trying to teach him. His interesting spiritual growth waned at this point and hasn't been reignited since.
